      Diving with Sharkskin

Diving and snorkeling activities require submersion and SHARKSKIN apparel is the perfect product to insulate and protect. Neutrally buoyant and non-compressible, Chillproof provides the equivalent thermal protection in water to 3mm neoprene without the bulk buoyancy issues.

Sharkskin technical watersports protection brand re-invented the wetsuit category with its Chillproof fabric and the rash-guard category with its Rapid Dry fabric to create a truly amphibious range that will keep you warm and protected in and out of the water.

Sharkskin Chillproof garments have revolutionised traditional wetsuit technology for scuba divers and snorkelers by providing 2.5-3mm of insulation without adding buoyancy, meaning you don’t need to carry extra weight. Chillproof is also breathable, windchill proof, and dries quickly when being worn - making it much warmer and more comfortable on the surface than a wetsuit.

The Sharkskin Chillproof can be worn by itself as a stand-alone garment in warm tropical waters, or underneath a wetsuit to add extra warmth and protection from windchill. As an example if worn under a 5mm suit, you get the approximate warmth of a 7.5mm-8mm wetsuit without the bulk or additional buoyancy. Sharkskin is very popular as a Drysuit Undergarment as it provides excellent insulation when dry or even when wet should there be a leak. It can be worn as a single or multiple layer depending on the water temperature.

Sharkskin also offers a range of Performance Wear products that use a combination of Chillproof fabric, super-stretch neoprene, and Liquid Titanium Compression (which is a lightweight technical fabric that generates heat) enabling a highly flexible range suitable for warmer waters.

Sharkskin Rapid Dry re-invented the traditional rash guard to provide a longer lasting garment with more insulation than Lycra. It’s the ideal product for tropical waters or wearing at the resort pool or just sitting at the bar. The fabric is chlorine proof, has a water repellent treatment (WRT), and its relaxed stylish fit looks good in, on or around the water.

Sharkskin hand crafts 95% of its highly innovative range in its own factory in Newcastle, Australia in direct response to the needs of the end user. At Sharkskin we call that “responsive innovation”.
