More than 25% of body heat is lost through the head and extremities of the body. The Sharkskin Chillproof sleeveless top with hood is designed to be worn underneath your wetsuit to provide the best warmth and insulation for your torso for colder dives. The hood protects against chafing from mask straps, keeps your head and ears toasty warm and is flexible enough to slide down around your neck in-between dives while on the boat or back on land while remaining comfortable. The Chillproof material allows for better hearing and less chance of ear squeeze than traditional neoprene hoods.
About Chillproof
Chillproof is an aquatic specific windchill proof, 3-layer composite material with the thermal properties of a 2.5 to 3mm neoprene wetsuit but without many of the drawbacks of traditional wetsuits. Chillproof can be worn under a wetsuit for extra warmth and enhanced wind protection. Chillproof can also be worn by itself as the perfect watersports thermal wear or layered with other Sharkskin garments for extra warmth and insulation.
It is ideal for scuba diving and snorkelling, jet skiing, paddle watersports, board watersports, wind watersports, sailing and many other watersports.

ONE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE.
SHARKSKIN T2 does not achieve warmth by simply adding more neoprene. Its three-layer fabric system is engineered to manage water, wind and body heat while remaining flexible and close to the body.
Layer 1 — Water-repellent outer:
A durable outer surface designed to shed water and reduce the amount of moisture held against the garment.
Layer 2 — Breathable windproof membrane:
A technical barrier designed to stop wind cutting through the garment while allowing greater comfort during surface activity.
Layer 3 — T2 thermal inner:
A soft, moisture-managing inner layer incorporating titanium technology designed to reflect far-infrared energy back toward the body.
The result is warmth, wind protection and flexibility in a low-bulk system designed to perform wet or dry.
Thicker neoprene is not always the answer.
T2 is engineered to provide thermal performance comparable to approximately 4–5 mm neoprene, depending on the product, activity, conditions and individual.
But because it does not rely on thick gas-cell foam for insulation, it feels significantly less bulky on the body.
That means less material to fight against, more room to move and a thermal layer that packs far more easily when you travel.
Wear it on its own when conditions suit. Combine T2 pieces for greater coverage. Or use selected T2 garments as part of a layering system when the temperature drops further.
Getting wet is only part of the problem. The real chill often begins when you leave the water.
When wet material is exposed to moving air, evaporation pulls heat away from the body. That is why the second dive, the ride back to shore or the wait between sessions can feel colder than the activity itself.
T2 includes a breathable windproof membrane designed to prevent wind cutting through the garment and rapidly stripping away warmth.
That protection continues when you move between water, wind, spray and the surface—making T2 particularly valuable for divers, paddlers, PWC riders, boaters and surf lifesavers.
Traditional neoprene becomes stiffer and more restrictive as thickness increases.
T2 follows the body rather than surrounding it in thick foam. Its flexible fabric construction allows greater freedom through the shoulders, arms, legs and torso—areas where restricted movement can quickly become exhausting.
The breathable membrane also makes T2 more comfortable when the pace changes. You can swim, paddle, prepare equipment, move around the boat or wait between dives without immediately feeling trapped inside a heavy wetsuit.
It is protection designed for the entire experience, not only the time spent fully immersed.
A traditional neoprene wetsuit contains gas cells. Those cells provide insulation, but they also create buoyancy.
Divers compensate by carrying additional lead. As the neoprene compresses with depth and expands again during ascent, its buoyancy changes throughout the dive.
T2 does not rely on thick gas-cell neoprene for insulation. It has minimal or neutral inherent buoyancy, depending on the garment, and does not experience the same large buoyancy changes associated with neoprene compression.
For many divers, that can mean carrying less lead, making fewer large buoyancy corrections and feeling less encumbered in the water.
It is not simply about warmth. It is about creating a more natural diving experience.
Australian made is more than a badge on the sleeve.
T2 brings product development, technical expertise, garment construction and quality control together close to the people who understand how the product is meant to perform.
For more than 20 years, SHARKSKIN has developed technical waterwear for demanding conditions and serious water users. T2 represents the next step in that process: a three-layer thermal system incorporating titanium far-infrared technology, engineered and manufactured in Australia.
Local manufacturing helps SHARKSKIN remain closely connected to the materials, construction and performance of every T2 garment.
